Re: Additional symbols - fermata (pause) symbol
If you've upgraded to the consort edition, the fermata is last symbol in the "accidentals" green toolbar. Display it with menu "Draw/Accidentals", or F5. The "Draw/All" tool window also includes a fermata. After choosing the "fermata" from the green toolbar, click on a notehead, and slide the fermat...

Re: notes that sound when placed and more
Clicking menu "Setup/Sound" toggles a check mark. When checked, notes sound when placed, clicked, or moved. Beams (sometimes called ligatures) are briefly explained in the "More Information/Music Notation" section of the help file, but there should be an example. You can see examples at http://piano...

Re: browsers gives error msg from posting page
I just change board settings to allow multiple postings without waiting. A test post seemed OK. Perhaps this problem will also be fixed. Please post again if you still have problems.

Thanks for reporting the problem. I recently upgraded phpBB and apparently missed some settings. Multiple postings should be OK now.

Re: staves and braces
Good observations. The help file uses the terms "object" and "symbol" when referring to anything you can select from the green toolbars in the "Draw" menu. It should standardize on one term and explain it better. Expanding the "Music Notation" part of the help file is also a good suggestion. "Staves...

Re: The newest Version
I don't know how #2 escaped notice for so long. I posted a preliminary version that should fix it at http://musettemusic.com/MusSetup_v2_12_8.exe Please let us know if it fixes problem #2 for you. I'm investigating solutions for #1, probably a new option to select which convention to use for acciden...

Re: brass music
Enter the notes as you want them to look on the page. If you have the consort edition, right-click on the staff and select "Setup/Draw". Use the "MIDI" transpose slider to transpose playback (down 2 halfsteps for a Bb trumpet).

All suggestions are welcome and carefully considered. If you've upgraded to the Consort Edition, you have access to the staff and all other symbols from the "Draw/All" menu option.

Re: Sharps and Flats
Thanks for posting. I'll consider this a request to choose which convention to use with accidentals. I'm aware of 2 different conventions for applying accidentals. I assume you're writing atonal or extensively chromatic music which would normally apply an accidental to only one octave. Musette curre...

Re: staves and braces
You need to be in demo mode or have the consort edition upgrade to have more than 2 staves in a brace. If the brace is highlighted (red), press ESC to un-highlight. Then select the staff object from the green toolbar and click inside the brace.

Steve,
You're not missing something, the help file is. F7 and F8 control vertical movement for lyrics like they do for notes.

Typo. I should have requested z7.mus in the Songsters folder.
