Leo,

Menu option "Help/About" will show the version.

The help file sections "Getting Started/Shortcuts", "Menus/Edit", and "Menus/Format" have more on F8 and F9.

Leo, Using V2.9.9 I downloaded your example and used F8 (move) and F9 (move all) to move a brace down to create some extra space. I inserted a single staff without incident. You need to be careful when moving a single staff so it doesn't get grabbed by a brace. If you save just before moving a sing...

Leo,

You're right. A brace may grab an existing isolated staff as the staff is moved. A possible workaround until it's fixed is:

1) Insert another independent staff.
2) Copy from the staff in the brace to the new staff.
3) Delete the staff from the brace.

Leo, When you add a single staff within, or close to, an existing brace, Musette automatically adds that staff to the existing brace. If you want an isolated staff between existing braces, the staff needs to be added away from the brace. If Musette adds the staff to an existing brace and that's not...

Leo,

For now, if you want to use much of one file in another file, it's usually simpler to "save as" the new file, then delete the parts you don't want rather than doing extensive copying between files.

Leo,

#1: The "Features/Chords" section of the help file covers this.

#2: You could use menu option "Draw/Staff/Marked-Block(dashed rectangle)" to draw a block around the whole notes and move them together.

Pierre,

You don't need to add a staff. Just select the staff or brace symbol in the green toolbar and click "Setup/Draw".

Silvano, There's no coda symbol available in the draw menus of current version but you can insert music symbols as text with the "Draw Text" menu option. The help file has more information. The MusetteMusic4a font file included with Musette has symbols not available in V2.9.8 draw menus. The coda s...

Nick,

I'm glad you like Musette. As you noticed, playback doesn't repeat at repeat bars. Playback is intended mostly for checking notes. You found a reasonable solution by copying and pasting repeated measures.

Musette does NOT save in Finale format. Musette uses a file type of ".mus" which some other programs also use, but the files are NOT interchangeable. Musette will not load Finale files, and as far as I know, Finale will not read Musette files. If you also have another program on your computer which...

Leo,

For now, you can improvise a time signature with text. Select the musettemusic font, size 18pt and use numbers 1-9.

After placing the title using Courier 20pt, use "setup" again to change the font and size to whatever you want next. Use can highlight the title text and use "Setup/Properties" to just change the highlighted text.

Wayne,

If you use Draw/Text/Text, you can change the font and size of the title.
