Re: Writing music for drums.

I won't promise a specific date. The next release is nearly done and will not include the X noteheads.

Re: Writing music for drums.

Ovidiu, The current version of Musette does not directly support other types of note heads. You can enter almost anything as text anywhere in the staff. The included musette font does have other note heads which can be entered as characters or text by selecting the musette font and the appropriate c...

Re: MiDI inputs from a DAW

Yes. The free Solo Edition imports up to two MIDI tracks. The Consort Edition upgrade imports all MIDI tracks. The video demo on the website starts with an example of MIDI import.

Re: printer -- help

post the musettelog file and the file that doesn't print. If you're not sure which musettelog file to post, then try printing again and post the log file for that day. Thanks.

Re: printer -- help

rommusette, Look in the folder with musette.exe for files called MusetteLog_xx.txt where xx is the year, month and day. These diagnostic files contain additional information about your printer and fonts. Please post the most recent file here as an attachment. You can view the file with a text editor...

Re: MIDI file with lyrics

jardimor,

If you can find a text file or website with the lyrics, you can use Musette's "Paste/Lyrics" menu option to add lyrics to the notes loaded from a MIDI file. The help file has more information.

Re: adding small cue notes to a print out of orchestral musi

hiddenvly, The current version doesn't directly support cue notes, but you could use "Draw/Text" and the MusetteMusic font, or another music font to place notes as text. Adjust the font size to set the desired note size. Windows "Character Map" application can show all the available music symbols in...

Re: How to enlarge staves

snickersnake, I suspect the problems are related. Musette scales staves for the selected printer. To help with a real solution, I'd like to see a log file. The log files are in the same folder as musette.exe (usually c:\program files\musette) and have names starting with "MusetteLog" and the names e...

Re: lyrics first?

Amusette, I could help you better if you post your file as an attachment. If you're entering lyrics between staves, Musette has to guess if you placing lyrics below the staff above, or above the staff below and chooses the closest staff. Do the lyrics line up with notes on the staff above or below? ...

Re: Newbie issues

Amusette, I could help you better if I could see what you did. You can post your file as an attachment. I'm not certain if the first measure only contains 2 quarter notes, or if you also added 2 beats of rests. Musette doesn't require bar lines. Without the rests in the first measure, the tied half-...

Re: Bar Number Disable

doshaug2, Experimental version 2.10 allows disabling measure numbers. In version 2.9, you can print without measure numbers with menu selection Setup/Validate, enter "clear" as the authorization code, then click "register". This disables all Consort Edition features (including measure numbers), so e...

Re: Grrek Fonts, Repetitions, Files

EL GRECO,

A. Experimental version 2.10 supports unicode and should work with Greek fonts.

B. The current version does not play repeats.

C. You can cut or copy, load another file with "File/Load" or "File/Open", and paste. The number of staves pasted must match the new file.

Re: The "chord" tool

Harper1, I assume you're using experimental version 2.10. If you have the consort edition, you can use the "Format/Stems" menu option to change stem direction. You can also replace a note with another note with the stem going in the opposite direction. Help file topic "Features/Chords" has more info...

Re: printing music

In Windows Vista Control Panel, click "Hardware and Sound/Printers". In addition to your HP Deskjet 3740 printer, you should also see Microsoft XPS Document Writer. Right-click on XPS Document Writer and select "Set as Default Printer". Now print a music file from Musette. It will write to an XPS fi...
