cant login if forgotten user name and password

when you have forgotten your user name but know your email addr you are
unable to login .... if you try to login using a new user name and the
original email addr you cant go forward, because the system says email
address in use ... thus you are blocked out ... i found my way back in by
locating an old posting in the help section that gave my original user name
... this problem took 2 days to solve
