Okay, I'm trying to write/edit/get music for myself and my band (orchestra) and I was trying to figure a few things out. My first question is...

1) When opening music (midi), how can you get multiple parts?

I opened it last night with the parts, and now it wont work. I had printed it but I frgot to transpose it. Now, I want to re-edit, but I didn't save the orriginal works, because I thought It'd be the same each time. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, and I'll have a few other questions as time goes on.

ti83pop,

The free version just reads one part from a midi file. You can read, transpose and print and play all parts in demo mode (Setup/Demo menu selection), or with the Consort version upgrade. You can't save in demo mode.

How many parts you get also depends on how the midi file was created. Midi files can have separate tracks for each part, or several instrumental parts in one track.

Thanks. What I had done (somehow) was bring a midi file into the program and it brought it into sheet music. I don't know if (at the time) I changed it into parts (and if I did, I don't remember how I did it) or if it came up like that (which it isn't now). I'll try what you said. Thanks for all the help and the great program!

Edit: It works. Thanks again! I'll post more questions when I get to them!
